Pet Relocation (Is It Worth It?)

Aweh, guys!

If you are wondering whether bringing your pets with you is worth it or not, I can say it absolutely is!

Coming home is something to look forward to

The pets themselves have made an unspoken sacrifice by being subjected to tests, being put in tiny spaces, exposed to loud noises and scary situations, flown for many hours to get to their new home… and that’s something they also need to adjust to. New sights, new smells, new people.

South Africats love the radiator

But they are adaptive. They get used to things so much easier than we do and we are there to get them through this huge change. It is so rewarding at the end because the alternative is to be fostered, lost and not be with their family. My Spock actually got PTSD after his flight where he would turn stiff at the vacuum. I guess it had to do with the commotion of the plane turbines and being stuffed in a small space… I believe it led to his reaction during the Bedspockalypse. My heart goes out to those who have no options but I applaud those who make this sacrifice, both emotional and financial. By being on this post alone suggests your caring and love for your pets regardless of the outcome and I respect that.

Where have you been???

Oh yes, rub my tum

I have been in the Netherlands for almost 3 months now and I am so grateful to have my babies with me. Especially when I’m struck with homesickness, I am so happy to see them and know that they were able to come along and ground me to a semblance of home. Even if they love daddy more than me.

Daddy!

Love your babies; appreciate them and even though it isn’t always forever, it is worth the time you have together. Thank you for doing your best!
